Project Description

Savannah Chatham County Public School System

GEI This project involved energy efficiency audits at 50 schools and administrative buildings, totaling over 4.8 million square feet, and with a total project cost of 1.55 million dollars ($1,548,300).

  • The project involved replacing over 500 packaged units that were past the expected useful lifetime, with new high efficiency models.
  • GEI performed retrocommissioning services on Savannah High School and the historic Savannah Arts Academy, cutting in half the annual utility bills.
  • The school system was able to retrocommission a number of outside air units that had been in disrepair, while still reducing the building’s energy consumption.
  • Solutions will provide annual savings of over 15,800,000 kWh of electricity and 279,000 therms of natural gas.
