Project Description

Fort Irwin: National Training Center

GEI performed an Investment Grade Audit on over 2.2 million sqft at Fort Irwin for a large national ESCO. The auditing consisted of 174 buildings, looking for energy savings measures. GEI self-performed all audits and savings calculations, and reviewed all vendor generated lighting and water savings.

  • The project saving were needed to help pay for a new waste to energy plant being installed as part of the project.
  • The base requested new centralized controls systems for 25+ buildings.
  • Building utility metering , needed for compliance with federal mandates.
  • Equipment retrofits, DCV, and improved pumping were included.
  • GEI is currently working on phase II , centering on new basewide natural gas service to replace current propane.

The audit identified over $2.5 million in energy and cost savings per year.
