Dekalb Country Renewable Fuels Facility

This building at Seminole Landfill in suburban Atlanta, GA, provides an innovative process that converts the Landfill Gas (LFG) to Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). The RNG is piped into the natural gas pipeline for distribution to natural gas customers. Future phases will also utilize this RNG to fuel county vehicles that previously used diesel fuel. GEI served as the primary LEED and design consultant. In addition to LEED Project management, GEI provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services and commissioning to the design-build contractor for this project.

  • Sponsored by the US Dept. of Energy, Clean Cities Atlanta Petroleum Reduction Program.
  • 10,200 SF building including Process Area, Observation Area, Meeting Room and support spaces.
  • Project received LEED Gold Certification. GEI is the LEED Project Administrator.
